Finished!!!

All done, it is on a nice display under my awsome portrait by Mary Demroske called "Breaking Away." I just taped the special on History Channel called Deap Sea Dectectives, and it was about the Fitz.

Rails and Masts

Finally starting the final phase of the Fitz. Neglected it for too long. I am pretty much finished with the masts and all the rails. I just need to decal and repair all the broken pieces.

Detailing

Put some ladders in on the bow. Will build the railing around them soon. Also put a "4 to 1" block and tackle on the life boats. Have to do two more. Also painted the base of the ship red for the keel of the ship.

Etching

Starting to work on the etching as well as some of the smaller parts.

Windows

I started to paint the windows in as well as some port holes. I also had to do a little repair work on the stern where there was a missing piece. I did a little gluing on some small pieces, working with super glue is a lot harder than glue for polystyrene.

New Bridge

I received the new bridge in the mail yesterday, and finally got to paint it. I also started to paint some detail in the rear quarters. The stern now has a coat of white on it. I can't wait to start putting the rails up. I havn't even used any glue yet, too much pre-op to do.

New Deck

I decided to re-paint the deck by spraying it down. It looks 100% better. My girlfriend got some nice shots of me painting some pieces. A little more retouching on the white spots and the hull.

Whiteing

Starting to put a little white paint on the bow and on the stern. Also started the painting of the etching. I decided to paint the hatch covers the same as the deck.

The Red Deck

Got three coats on the deck using a brush. I thought about spraying this part, but I decided against it.I will probably add one more coat. I am going to add the white on the hull soon.

The Beginning...

This is my work station. The hull is painted using "rust" by Testors. The spar deck and other decks are going to be flat red by Tamaya. As of now, I have been doing a lot of sanding to make all parts fit well. I a have been using a Dremal tool to help speed up the process.
